So sad to lose the newsletter, but I’ll make it a point to visit the site regularly. Thank you to all of you for your work, your insight and opening doors to films and shows I would otherwise never have seen. Best of luck for the future!
I discovered some of favorite movies through the site and newsletter. Specifically “niche” films from different parts of the world that I shared with my friends and made watch parties for. Looking forward to more recommendations from the site!
What a great run you've had, from Bilal to now - it's been a pleasure to support this amazing newsletter and will check the site regularly from now on! Thank you.
😭 I’m a paid subscriber and will miss this SO much!!! I’ve gotten so many great recommendations from you guys. Thanks for your work, and please let us know if you pick it back up. I need nice, happy, normal constants these days!
Thanks for all your work, I’ve had some many great watching experiences based on your writing! I’ll have to check your site more often now which is not necessarily a bad thing I guess
PS I’m a paid subscriber and would happily pay more than what you were charging. Many of us recognize there’s no free lunch... and I am not on Twitter so if y’all start another film review newsletter, please let your subscribers know!
Nooooo. I’m so sad. I found Bilal in his very early days and it was a revelation to two older foreign and indie art film lovers who’ve long not cared for Hollywood. Bilal seemed to read my and my husband’s mine as to what we thought quality film was. He and this site introduced us to so many riveting high quality foreign films. We would never have seen films like City of God or Plaza Cathedral or Retalbo - and so so many more. And I always let my friends know about these films as well.
Please know you’ve brought so much happiness to many people.. please also do not issue me a refund. I know change is inevitable and wish you well in your next endeavors. Thank you thank you.
