What to Watch this Weekend
A comedy miniseries on Netflix, a drama, and a new series with Pauline Chalamet
Dear friends,
This week this small NYT feature noted a silly characteristic of the streaming age, the “+” sign, as in: CNN+, Paramount+, ESPN+, Disney+, Apple TV+, BET+, AMC+, and Discovery+. What does it mean? No one is really sure anymore
I hope you have a great weekend.

Anxious People
New on Netflix this week 🍅 rating: -%
This easy miniseries takes place in a small town in Sweden, where the police unit is headed by a father and son team. The father is out of shape, and the son has no experience in police work. Midway through the son getting a haircut one day, something rare happens: action. A bank is getting robbed.
So the completely unqualified duo (one with a half-finished haircut) have to get it together, work through some family issues, and get this thief.
While the premise seems like the set-up of a no-brainer comedy, the show actually packs a lot of substance. Estranged family members, suicide, drug addiction, are just some of the heavy themes that get woven into the comedy.
Based on a Swedish bestseller by the same name from Fredrik Backman, who also wrote the film/series combo A Man Called Ove.
